About Our Shoelaces + Charms
SPRKL sells shoelaces in pairs, meaning you get a lace for each shoe when you purchase from us. If you are looking for a mismatched looked, you would need to buy your favorite two pairs.
All of our accessories are very easy to install.
If you purchased a charm on a lobster clasp, simply loop the clasp around the entire lace where you want the charm to sit so it can move freely and not damage the lace.
The lace buckles will be fed into the shoelace so that the loops on the back are filled with shoestrings. These can sit on the very front- starting lace position or higher up with a straight lace method- or even diagonal with a crisscross lace style.
Beads are very similar to the buckles where they will be fed onto the shoelace where you would like them to reside, then continue lacing to lock them in place.
To maintain a new appearance, we recommend spot cleaning with a mild detergent and warm water as needed. My favorite go to cleaner on laces is Dawn power wash spray foam!
Lacing Size Guide
Below is a breakdown of shoelace length recommendations by eyelets:
3-4 eyelet holes- 27"-36" laces
5 eyelet holes- 40"-45" laces
6 eyelet holes- 45"-49" laces
7 eyelet holes- 49"-54" laces
8 eyelet holes- 54" laces
To ensure the best fit, measure your current shoelaces tip to tip.

I love that you are already thinking about the design of your shoes! I'm so excited to help your vision come to life!
My recommendation is typically 2-4 dangle charms down the eyelets on EACH shoe and beads can vary depending on the width of eyelets across the tongue. Typically, 3/5 beads on the front lace and 1/3 beads on the tiers above looks fantastic
Lace & Charm Durability
Yes! We use heavy gauge jump rings to secure the charm to the clasp. One thing to keep in mind, the heavier the charm the more you may feel its movement with repetitive action.
We offer an array of different shoelace styles and materials.
- For heavy activity shoes- the recommendation would be the flat cotton laces, glitter weave laces, or the embroidered hearts lace collections.
- For stylish shoes- the recommendation is anything your style senses are pulling you towards! There are no rules!
The weight of each charm varies depending on size and material, weighing up to a few ounces. We use heavy gauge jump rings to secure our charms to their clasps. These are very strong, but not indestructible. We recommend using caution where you are walking or sitting to keep charms from getting caught and pulled on debris or furniture fabric.
